Blast occurs at NLMK plant, one injured, production not disrupted
MOSCOW/VORONEZH, Nov 15 (PRIME) -- Explosion occurred at a Russian metals producer NLMK’s plant in Lipetsk, one worker hospitalized, a source in the emergency services told PRIME late on November 14.
“There was an explosion at one of the units of the metallurgical plant in Lipetsk. As a result, the roof collapsed along the entire perimeter,” the source said.
An NLMK representative said, “On November 14 at 9:30 p.m. Moscow time, an explosion occurred at a coal warehouse followed by a conveyor belt fire, which was extinguished within 15 minutes. One employee was injured and taken to the ambulance. Part of the roof of the plant unit sustained damage. The production at the enterprise was not disrupted.”
